Linking with Manaiakalani, Hanga - Create, it is positive and helpful to our well being to be able to be creative. And I totally agree as I feel motivated and engaged and ready to keep going with the things that I started creating today.
There were many things I took away from the morning session but will just share one thing that had some real impact for me.
A list of new things I have created and will use in my class:
- You Tube Channel with a Playlist. I have now put the songs we sing in the mornings (Kiwi kids Songs) into a play list on my channel so that I can go to them instantly instead of searching them every morning.
- Google Drawing - I have started to create buttons for my class website that are nicer to look at and more personal then just images searches from the internet.
- Slide Deck - this was definitely my favourite and I am so motivated to finish what I started. Being able to choose a theme and change it to suit my needs and style is so amazing. I have now started creating a slide deck for our class routine. On it are slides to link the timetable, our routines, groups tasks etc so that if I am away (Like at DFI course) I can leave it for the reliever on the screen and the whole day is there for them and the class and easy to follow! I am greatly looking forward to having this finished and using it. Below is a snap shot of what it is starting to look like.
I would love to spend more time writing all the things I have learnt today but instead I am going to use my time to finish creating my slide deck.

Kia ora Kylie,
ReplyDeleteI love that quote from John Dewy! I think creativity in our classrooms is so valuable for our learners! I'm looking forward to connecting with you next week and finding out how your Youtube channel and slides have been going.

Thank you Vicki.
ReplyDeleteI have been spending this week being creative with the children. Lots of art, dancing, singing, drawing and building. It is chilled out and fun. With having less than half of my class back it is just lovely.
